Confucianism: What is love?

Love exists to create a deal in which two beings decide to join in the path of balance naturally in harmony, but to distinguish if this love is true, certain characteristics must be present such as the use of reason before passion, not thinking in the short term, love as a decision, being 2 paths in 1.

«You must always have a cool head, warm your heart, and hold out your hand» Confucius

Giving love and being loved is a natural quality in the human being as an important part of the harmony between beings, created so that two people join their paths and live as one being on the path of balance; But like every facet of the human being, there is also its version of false love, to distinguish true natural love from worldly false love we can guide ourselves in this form of love that we will expose below:

1. Reason before passion

Desire is completely worldly and earthly, when a man is guided only by desire there is no difference if it is a person or an animal; true love is guided by the reason.

2. Don't think short term

Love is designed to find that person who will travel the path of balance with us in harmony that is why it is important to keep the future in mind in love, since walking the path of the center refers to all of life, not a part of it.

3. Love is a decision

The "falling in love" is completely bodily, and is a sensation that will disappear at some point, they are simple reactions of the body, the true love reasons with a cool head and choose your travel companion carefully.

4. From 2 ways to 1

True love eliminates individualism, when the decision is made to love the two become one being in the same path of balance.

Characteristics such as the use of reason before passion, not thinking in the short term, love as a decision, being 2 paths in 1; They will lead to building a love with strong foundations that will be strengthened each day in harmony to grow and get closer each day to meet that common goal on the path of balance.
