Confucianism: Man and Education

Learning is born from a heart thirsty to create, but to meet this need it is necessary that the process has certain characteristics and ways of thinking such as being critical, having a good source from whom to learn, without barriers and having an open mind.

Education depends largely on how much you want, that motivation will work like water, it always finds the way regardless of the obstacles it presents along the way. The purpose of knowledge is to create, a good education turns the student into a receiver and transmitter of knowledge.

“They told me, I forgot; I saw and understood; I did it and I learned it ”Confucius

An environment conducive to learning must be built on these foundations:

1. Critical mind

Questioning what is taught is key in learning, an intelligent person knows that you cannot accept everything blindly, since human beings have a tendency to evil and lies, so to find the truth it is necessary to know how to discern. In addition to being a way of thinking that prevents deception, it stores true information in a more valuable way because it processes it as an experience of its own.

2. Good source of knowledge

Critical thinking is what will work as a compass to find the right teacher, this search is constant and every day, you must keep an open mind to new possibilities, because you never know where or how a valuable source of knowledge will present itself to us. knowledge.

3. No barriers

There are two types of barriers to learning:
The external ones are about the economic, social, etc; These are not so difficult to tear down as it is not something in the bud. The desire to learn always finds its way like water.
Internal barriers are those that we set ourselves with self-critical thinking, the latter are the most dangerous, since they produce self-sabotage in everything we do in our lives. Self-criticism and the feeling of dissatisfaction is a problem depending on how it is taken, if it produces movement in the person and leads him to work hard to overcome that feeling, it is not negative; the problem arises when you stop walking by this feeling.

4. Open mind

It is the door to new knowledge and growth, that type of thinking must be balanced with critical thinking. It is important to keep an open thought to get to the truth, learn each point and perspective of knowledge and then through critical thinking make a comparison and discernment of each point to arrive at the truth.

These bases will lead to a correct learning that will produce a student product and producer of new knowledge that will fulfill its initial purpose, to create.

Bases such as the critical mind, a good source of knowledge, without barriers and an open mind, have led great men in history to do great things, but these at the time swam against the current as it is also happening today, because they are creating new knowledge that will be debated, therefore fulfilling the purpose of learning, create.
